I was a free spirited child and spent a lot of time barefoot, running around the woods, playing make-believe in the world I created for myself, and so Stroobly Blatherskite is my childhood self / persona. Stroobly grew up out of the land on an old fashioned homestead. She loves to make things with bohemian, folkloric influences. I live in Maine now, which I love for its wildness. I still spend a lot of time outdoors and go around barefoot whenever possible.
“In the trembling of a leaf,” says Baudelaire, “in the color of a blade of grass, in the shape of clover, in the buzzing of a bee, in the sparkle of a drop of dew, in the sighing wind, in the vague fragrance coming out of the woods, an entire world of inspirations is produced, a magnificent and colorful parade of disorganized and rhapsodic thoughts.”
